In a September 11 post, Erie County Community College president Chris Gray recapped the college’s July Quarterly Breakfast. He reported that EC3 had received Title IV eligibility, allowing students to apply for federal financial aid beginning in fall 2026.

The post says this includes grants and other federal assistance. Gray estimates that 60 to 80 percent of EC3 students may qualify to attend tuition-free through available programs. That figure is the college’s estimate; individual eligibility depends on the applicable aid programs.

Gray also describes employer participation in Program Advisory Committees. Every applied degree program has a committee of professionals and employers that meets at least annually to discuss workforce requirements, curriculum, industry changes and expected graduate skills. Members provide feedback and can help connect students with internships and employment opportunities.

The quarterly gatherings give community members, businesses and partners a chance to hear from college leaders and discuss the college’s connection to Erie County’s education and workforce needs.
